Tomato "Rotkäppchen".
Very tasty: long-awaited fruits for vitamin salads in the middle of summer.
A mid-early, high-yielding, low-growing determinate variety that does not require the removal of side shoots (pruning). A compact, bush variety 30-40 cm in height.
The fruits are not large, flat-round, aromatic, weighing about 50 g. Grown in pots, in open ground, and in greenhouses.
The fruits do not crack. Ideal for canning.
* From history: this variety was bred by German breeders at the end of the last century.
The variety belongs to standard (bush) cultures, which stop growing after the appearance of buds. Therefore, this variety does not need such measures as staking bushes, removing side shoots (suckers), or topping. The fruits are concentrated on the upper part of the bush and are gathered in clusters of 6-7 pieces. The average weight of fruits is from 50 to 100 g.
The skin of the tomatoes is bright red and glossy. The inner part is divided into two chambers. The pulp is of medium texture. The taste is pleasant, sweet and sour.
Ultra-early: the first harvest grown in greenhouse conditions is collected in mid-May. Up to 2 kg of tomatoes are obtained from one bush per season. Even when developing at high humidity levels, the skin does not crack, which is very important and convenient for transportation.
Resistant to diseases: tobacco mosaic virus, verticillium, fusarium wilt. It easily tolerates short-term lack of light and drought. Develops wonderfully in greenhouse conditions, in containers, on balconies, and window sills.
Ideal neighbours for tomatoes: parsley, cabbage, carrots, and zucchini.
